May 22nd, 2025
Hi,
I hope you will be able to join us at our Summer Social (OK. Not 'technically' Summer yet, but, we are an innovation space, so...). Community has long been the heart of LIZ. Of course we share our successes, challenges, and ideas in the hope others can help or benefit from them. Equally important, it's good fun to take a break and share stories with your fellow adventurers. I'm looking forward to the event. Hope to see you there.
All the best,
Chris Bentley

1. What’s one unexpected lesson you’ve learned throughout your entrepreneurial journey?
That clarity doesn’t always come from planning — it comes from doing. I used to believe that I needed to have everything figured out before taking the leap. But building Philer has taught me that the answers often come when you're in motion, solving one real problem at a time.
2. What excites you most about the work you're doing?
Buying a home should feel like a milestone, not a meltdown. What excites me most is knowing that we’re helping people start their “happily ever after” with peace of mind, not paperwork-induced panic. Seeing homebuyers close with confidence and a smile — that’s what keeps me going.
3. What's the best advice you’ve ever received?
"Build for one person, not everyone." It reminded me to stay focused on who I'm serving and not to try to please everyone. That's been a game changer, especially in an industry as complex as real estate.
4. How do you support and empower your team?
I lead with trust. I give people the space to own problems and the confidence that I’ll back them when they take risks. A lot of that comes from my athletic background — great teams don’t work unless everyone feels safe to push their limits and play to their strengths.
5. Share a fun fact about you!
If I wasn't building companies, I’d be chasing Olympic medals. I qualified for nationals in track and field as a teenager, and to this day, my personal mission is to be the fittest 100-year-old on the planet.
